Registration is now open for our Tiny Seeds Parent Child class. Read more about starting toddlers off on a meaningful connection to nature.

Openings Remain for 2016-17 School Year

We still have limited openings for the 2016-17 school year. Please inquire about openings specific to your child’s age and gender before scheduling a tour.

No Open House in 2016

We have found that the best way for families to experience Wildwood Nature School and determine if it is a good fit for their child is to observe us in action on a regular school day. In lieu of attending an open house, please contact us to schedule a personalized time to visit.

Enrollment Process for 2016-17 School Year

We will not be holding an open house this year. We have found that the best way for parents to determine if Wildwood Nature School is a good fit for their child is to see us in action. Please contact us to schedule a classroom visit or to tour at a quieter time.

You are encouraged to schedule your visit within the next month as we will run a lottery for open spots on March 1 and do expect to enrollment to be full after that date.

All returning students are guaranteed placement for the following year. Remaining openings are filled by lottery on March 1. Siblings of current and former students receive preferential placement in the

Rescheduled Open House

Due to the continuing snow and threat of ice storms, our open house has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 15th from 10:30 – 12:30.  Hope to see you there!

Getting to Know Us

Our annual Open House will be on Saturday, February 8th from 10:30 – 12:30.  The open house is a perfect time for families thinking about preschool in the fall to get to know Wildwood Nature School.  We invite you to join us for play, learning, and touring the school inside and out.

Wildwood Nature School will also be at the St. Johns Swap n’Play preschool fair on Saturday, February 1st.  For more information about either event, complete a contact form.  We’ll answer all your questions!

New Outdoor Play Features

Last weekend’s lumberjack show in West Linn produced many stumps for our tiered steps and gathering area.  A big thank you to the athletes who helped out after the show — sawing off rough edges to make the stumps suitable for children at play.

New Preschool Location

Wildwood Nature School will be located at 10126 NW Ash Ct (my house) for the 2013-14 school year.  This location is about ½ mile west on Skyline from the old Newberry Rd. location.  We have 2.5 acres of land (plus access to an additional 4 acre wildlife area) – cleared, forested, and some small trails.  The program and curriculum will remain the same, with an emphasis on play and nature-based learning.

Wildwood Nature School is Moving

Unfortunately, the Multnomah County zoning board has determined that a preschool is not appropriate for land zoned for farm/forestry use.  The school will reopen at a new location (as yet undetermined, but check back soon) in September.  In the meantime, the Skyline Grange — with newly restored native plant nature trails — has agreed to host our summer camps.  We are still accepting enrollments during this time of transition and would love to see you at camp this summer!
